I'm a huge Matthews fan but McDavid is better at receiving passes. I've watched a decent amount of Oilers games and he can receive any garbage pass within stick range, without breaking stride. He's probably the best in the league at it, along with Crosby. Matthews is up there too but I'd say those two are a little better at it.

The main factor in evaluating an NHL player is their ability to create a winning team atmosphere, that ultimately translates to winning championships.

Players like JEAN BELIVEAU, JONATHAN TOEWS, MARK MESSIER AND SYDNEY CROSBY have that quality.

Players like Mcdavid and Matthews lack that magical element and therefore the debate of who is the better of the two leaves me cold.
